Thankyou Pamela. 🩷it warms my heart to hear you love flying! I loved it as a kid too. Neuroscience shows that our brains are malleable. I know I can find the joy of flying again. The next article I’m writing is about how to actually rewire those neural pathways. I’m working on it on real time 🙂

I really enjoyed reading your essay Ashley! I am suffering from fear of flying and each time it's the same story. A couple of days before flying, I got a free intestine cleanse until the very moment I am seating in the plane, then I share with the flight attendants my fear so they come to see me often (which reassures me), then I squeeze my husband's and daughter's hand at each little turbulence, I sometimes cry too, I can't really watch a movie as I am looking at the little plane on the screen in front of me (checking altitude and stuffs that I don't understand anyway)...The doctor gave me some kind of relaxing pill but honeslty, it doesn't work well until I mix it with a glass of wine (which is dangerous and not good!!) This all thins is so uncomfortable each time...it sucks! I want to be free of that fear. So please, I am interested in knowing your tips, your techniques to help with this. Thank you for sharing <3

Thanks for sharing Ambre <3 we know each other’s struggle. Mine is just as you describe too. It’s so uncomfortable. And I’m with you: the meds don’t really work for me either, and I just feel groggy and yet scared. It’s hard to manage the sedation properly, Using the hypnotherapy recording leading to to the flight really does help me. I have way less panic on the flight. I don’t even think of the upcoming flight too much anymore. I’ll share with you a recording when I make one! I’m also using some visualizations around turbulence bc that’s the part that I struggle most w. Our brains need to understand there’s no real danger. Right now, we believe turbulence = danger. I promise I will share tips! I feel like I’m on the verge of beating this fear. I feel you friend! 💗💜💙thanks for sharing! 5% of the population has this same fear.

wow...such an interesting essay. Flying around the world being scared to fly! That isnsome serious coming of age/fight your fears attitude! I had the same approach with blood donation and tattoos...being scared of needles! Force yourself out of your comfort zone and magics will happen. As I always say, "you cannot kill a dead man"! Go Ash!
